Bloomberg Market Concepts
I would like to try out the BMC before deciding whether to use it in my classroom. How can I trial the product? We will provide you with a complimentary professor login to review the content. Please email us at bbg.edu@bloomberg.net and a Bloomberg representative will be in touch with you shortly.
What student group is BMC best suited to? BMC is relevant to any aspiring finance professional, ideally before day 1 of their first finance internship. The content of the course is suitable to any student from their first year of undergraduate study onwards, regardless of their major.
Who devised the program? BMC was scripted by a team of finance professionals including CFA charter holders.
Is BMC available in other languages? No, BMC is only available in English.
How long does it take to complete BMC? A typical user will take between 8-10 hours to complete this course. BMC subscriptions are valid for 12 months from the registration date.
How do I integrate BMC into my class? Please take a look at our press page for examples of Bloomberg syllabus integration. Contact your Bloomberg for Education rep who can provide a class code for you to track student progress.
Are there any requirements before offering BMC to my students? No, there are no prerequisites for this course except for basic mathematics.
If I incorporate BMC into my class, can I get a report on my student’s progress through the course? Yes. Please email your Bloomberg for Education representative for more information. Alternatively, email us at bbg.edu@bloomberg.net and a Bloomberg representative will be in touch with you shortly.
Do students get a certificate after completing each module? No. Students have to complete all 4 modules in order to be awarded a certificate of completion.
Is there a pass/fail mark students need to achieve in order to obtain the certificate? No, it is a certificate of completion.
What level of mathematics skill is needed? Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and basic algebra are required. Advanced statistics and regressions are not required.
How often is the content updated? The financial markets are constantly evolving and the Bloomberg Terminal evolves alongside the markets. Accordingly, the BMC will be updated periodically.
Do students need a calculator to complete the course? Yes. A basic calculator or phone calculator is sufficient.
What are the system requirements to run BMC? You will need to download the latest version of adobe flash (18.0.0.209). This can be downloaded free of charge here: https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
If you skip forward repeatedly there is a small chance you will experience technical issues with your web browser. In order to avoid this, ensure you clear your browsing history/cache before starting BMC.

How do I have my syllabus added to the Bloomberg website? Email bbg.edu@bloomberg.net and our team will have your syllabus added to our website.
Do we need to have Terminals to offer BMC to our students? No.
Do students need access to a Bloomberg Terminal to be able to take BMC? No. BMC is accessible through the Bloomberg for Education website and Bloomberg Terminal access is not required.
Why am I getting a blank screen when trying to play a video? Please ensure that you have a recent version of Adobe Flash on your computer and that the Flash plugin is enabled on your Internet browser.
Is there a forum/event series where I can learn more about Bloomberg on campus? The Bloomberg for Education team hosts various regional events throughout the year. Email bbg.edu@bloomberg,net for more information about our upcoming events.
